Punch Architectural Series 4000

Punch Software allows you to make your own building plans, or modify plans made by your architect, engineer, or draftsman. We recommend Punch Software's Home Design Archtectural Series 4000, the top-of-the-line version.

Punch! Professional Platinum

Punch Software has a lower-priced option, Home Design Platinum Version 8, that still allows you to import and export AutoCAD format (the standard in the industry). This is the lowest-cost Punch Software product we recommend. Both versions include log home objects and video tutorials.

If you've taken our two day log home building class, you know that we recommend picking up a copy of The Stair Builders Handbook by T.W. Love (published by Craftsman Book Company).

If you order it direct from the publisher, it'll set you back $20, but we recently discovered that you can pick it up at Amazon.com for only $13.65.
