Working Alone - Tips & Techniques for Solo Building is a very handy guide full of tips and tricks for solving problems when you are the only person working on your construction project. Living Homes is a wonderful book on designing and building alternative homes with energy-efficient designs. There is also good information on building masonry stoves, which are a very efficient (and very expensive if you pay someone else to build) way to heat your home.
