Q: Do you need any heavy equipment such as a crane to build a log home?

A: No. All of the tools that are necessary to build a log home can easily fit into the trunk of a car.

The ridge pole of Skip's home is over 85' long and almost 3' in diameter. It is approximately 45' above the first floor of the home -- and it was lifted into place using simple hand tools that will easily fit into the trunk of a car.
