See the stained glass window behind the Christmas tree? This was saved from a church that was being torn down. Several stained glass windows from that church are in this house, and they were all given to the Jessups by a friend.

It is nearly impossible to capture the sense of incredible "bigness" that this home has, but you can probably imagine it from the next two photos:

A properly constructed butt and pass log home does not need load-bearing interior walls, so from a design perspective it is one of the most flexible building styles. You can design a home with giant open spaces -- without worrying about where interior walls need to go.

The Jessups used antique cut nails for the main floor, to give it a rustic feel that matches the home. Combined with rustic log furniture the floors give you a feeling of cozy comfort.
