December Log Home of the Month Pictures

The turret on the outside of Ric's log home is a beautiful spiral staircase on the inside. On the main floor, under the staircase is a closet. In the back of the closet is a small passage leading to extra storage under the main staircase.

Below, you can see a textbook perfect pair of "inside" corners. These are corners that point towards the inside of the log home. Ric says that he built the entire house without the log turret, and then decided to add the turret at the last minute. So he took out his chainsaw and cut a big hole in the log wall and added the turret staircase. He says everyone who visits comments on how beautiful it is, and we agree.

Here's the view from the second floor loft down to the great room.

Ric added what appears to be a ship's porthole window in the loft. The picture below shows the view out to the front yard and driveway.

Ric added an office with these French doors off the second floor loft. The office has a a fantastic private, wooded view towards the rear of the log home.

And finally -- we arrive at the third floor. Here you can see the view from the top of the log turret staircase, as well as the log rafters and ridgepole.

In the picture below, you can see thirty years' worth of love on the center column. Someone who loved this log home very much rubbed the column every time they ran down the staircase for dinner.

Would you like to see the outside, the hot tub, the Koi pond, the greenhouse and the guesthouse?
